What is a Wrap Account?
A Wrap account is a service that bundles (wraps) all your
investments together around a central cash hub. The hub
allows for easy administration of your portfolio, as all
buying, selling, reporting and maintenance of your
investments occur in the one place.
Once your account has been established, all transacting is
performed via a website, allowing your advisor to give you
fast and efficient service, whilst also allowing you to view
comprehensive online reporting of your portfolio at any
time.
Together with your FuturePlus Financial Planner, a Wrap
account can help you manage your total investment
portfolio.
What Products Are Available?
FuturePlus Wrap offers three investment vehicles:
Investment Manager, Super Manager and Pension Manager.
How does a Wrap account work?
There are three steps to establishing a comprehensive and
effective portfolio using a Wrap account:
1 Financial Plan
To establish and maintain a portfolio, we will work with you
to determine your portfolio objectives and investment
strategy. This includes discussing your financial objectives
and timeframes, your tolerance of risk and your general
attitudes towards investing.
We will then give you an overview of the types of
investments that will work for you. Along with these
recommendations will be the offer document for the
FuturePlus Wrap product.
When you sign the FuturePlus Wrap application
form, you are giving us authority to build and operate the
portfolio in accordance with your instructions. The
FuturePlus Wrap can only be operated by a
FuturePlus advisor, and this product is only available to
FuturePlus clients.
2 Setting up your portfolio
Portfolios start with a minimum of $5,000 and are
operated from a cash account from where all purchases,
sales, income and fees are settled. To set up your portfolio,
we will buy the investments discussed in Step 1 online via
the website. At this time we will also select the features for
your portfolio, such as regular contributions, auto
rebalancing or margin lending (only available in the
Investment Manager) to help you achieve your financial
goals.
3 Maintenance and reporting
While setting up your portfolio your adviser can organise for
certain reports to be automatically generated at certain
times and they will also be able to see details of many
aspects of your portfolio at any time. Available reports include:
account balance and the latest available market value of
the investments;
how the portfolio is spread across different asset classes;
details of transactions;
details of income received from investments;
any capital gains on the investment - realised and
unrealised; and
consolidated tax reports.
You can also view your portfolio online through ClientView.
This website allows you to see the value and asset
allocation of your portfolio at any time. In addition to the
up-to-date reports available from your adviser, you will also
receive detailed statutory reporting on your portfolio from
the FuturePlus Wrap.
